Activities Supporting National Policies

Our department plays an important supporting role in the definition, evaluation and implementation of environmental policies, through research and innovation, services to public actors and businesses and awareness-raising and training activities.

This role is formalised through contractual agreements with several ministries, for the following policies:

  • Clean production in industry – European “IPPC” Directive – “Integrated Pollution Prevention & Control”, intelligent use of raw materials, energy efficiency

  • Integrated water resources management – European Water Framework Directive - We are also regularly asked to evaluate environmental policies on national level (advice for ministries and public administrations concerning energy policies or environmental permits) and we contribute to their implementation.
