Service Science & Innovation

Our Service Science & Innovation department focuses its activities towards information and communication technologies and business organisation and management.

The SSI is an interdisciplinary centre dedicated to an approach that is grounded in the science of service innovation, based on the emerging interdisciplinary field of science called “Service Science, Management and Engineering” (SSME).

Services recent innovation challenges

The service economy in Luxembourg is facing innovation challenges. We address these challenges by applying our multidisciplinary competences based on a scientific and rigorous approach associated with the new field of service science. In keeping with this emerging scientific discipline, our research and innovation skills cover the aspects associated with technology, knowledge management, economics, people, processes and organisational management.

Service Science & Innovation (SSI)

With more than 150 members of staff, SSI is the Centre’s largest research department. The teams, based in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, are divided into five research units.

Our department works in partnership with several companies, institutions, networks, etc.

We contribute to all of the CRP Henri Tudor innovation programmes, thanks primarily to our sophisticated innovation services such as auditing, evaluation, consulting and training.

Our investments for the future

Our department invests in the development of new competences, dedicated to the topic of “Service Science & Innovation”. In this investment programme we act as a “Living Lab”, conducting experimentation and validation cycles in which, on the one hand, research into service science will inspire multi-sectoral services and, on the other, the experimentation surrounding these innovation services will feed into the research into service science.
