Presentation

What's the purpose of a Public Research Centre?

To establish a link between research and society as a whole and to ensure that transfers take place between these two spheres. A single mission: to sustainably reinforce the economic competitiveness of companies and the fabric of society. An autonomous enterprise with a public utility mission; we are a pool of knowledge and skills utilised for the benefit of the market and society, in Luxembourg itself but also in the Greater Region of Luxembourg and in Europe.

Innovating, with you and for you

Innovation is our principle ambition, but not at any cost. For us, innovation is only worthwhile if it makes a positive impact on society and the economy. Within our sector, that of technologies and organisation, this creates a two-fold requirement: to develop solutions according to scientific standards and to ensure that the results are useful and workable. This is the challenge of applied research, and has been our challenge over the past 25 years – our aim is to excel at it.

Networking is a strength

We're not the only actor in this environment, and that's a good thing. Universities, research centres, professional bodies and businesses also represent partnerships to be developed. In collaborating closely with all of these actors, our creativity is stimulated. We expand on our expertise, deepen our understanding of market needs and can anticipate social change. This openness, which is summarised in the term “open innovation”, has a single objective: to create a win-win situation in working with us.
