RTO: science and social & economic wellbeing

We are a research and technology organisation (RTO). This means two things. Firstly, that we draw on the innovation potential of science. Secondly, that our innovations must contribute to economic and social well-being.

Scientific demand for tools and methods on the one hand, and demand for results that can be utilised by the market and society on the other, this is the very essence of innovation-oriented and applied research. A domain in which we set the standard in Luxembourg and the Greater Region.

Scientific excellence as a benchmark

We enjoy international scientific recognition, and are regularly subject to evaluation by our peers. And rightly so. Our researchers are experts at the cutting-edge of their fields and we want to make sure that they stay there. They are the guarantee of the scientific quality of our work.

Our innovations rely on scientific knowledge that is evolving rapidly. This is why we constantly monitor those active in academic research, with whom we collaborate through partnerships and networks.

We live in a knowledge-driven society in which exchange generates added value. We participate in this by assigning priority to the transfer of knowledge. Every year, we produce a significant number of referenced scientific publications. We host and organise diploma courses, international conferences and workshops.

However, remaining at the forefront is also about continually developing competences, participating in training courses, mobility programmes, conferences and seminars, and encouraging an interdisciplinary approach as a means of acquiring new knowledge.

Talent incubator

We open our doors to doctoral students, post-doctoral students and scientific visitors, and very many have entered! The main thing we offer them is the opportunity of scientific exchange with our researchers, within a multi-cultural, interdisciplinary and open environment. But most of all, we offer future prospects on pertinent topics.
